On Thursday I asked you to begin to inquire into what mathematics actually is. For many of you, you may have never really addressed this question before now.
So what exactly is math?
What does it mean to do mathematics?
If you are "thinking mathematically," what might be going on?
Please take some time before class on Tuesday and research these questions. Give them some actual thought. Ask other people. Check online sources. Read articles. See what you can find out. Bring your notes with you. You will be writing a post about what you believe mathematics to be, after having done some research into the question and our discussion on Tuesday.
