Hi everyone. Today you have a task to complete. I need you to focus on the site YouCubed.
"YouCubed is a nonprofit organization that provides free and affordable K-12 mathematics resources and professional development for educators and parents" and is one of the best resources available for coming to understand the teaching of mathematics to children. This is a new resource and it is exceptional.
Your task is to familiarize yourself with all aspects of the site, (including the videos) and study it as a way to help you gain a deeper understanding of teaching math to children. It is an important site that will help you begin to articulate the questions you might get from parents, from people situated outside education or people who have been removed from the latest research on teaching mathematics.
I realize that procrastination and time management are two challenges for many people. I see this site as something particularly valuable, so I am giving you time : 75 minutes of class time to inquire into all aspects of this site.
You do not need to remain in the classroom. You may work wherever you will be the most productive.
